The Spring Dinner 2018 has been organised by Mike Murray who kindly offered to run the event. The Dinner will be held at the White Waters Hotel, Llangollen. The proposed dates are 6th-7th April 2018. The itinerary will vary depending on the distance one has to travel, however, it is anticipated that there will be a group dinner on the evening of Friday 6th, various visits to local attractions on Saturday 7th April with, possibly, a speaker for our Spring dinner on Saturday evening then leaving at your leisure on Sunday.
The activities in the area are many and varied. For example:-
- Visit to Portmeirion (of the TV series ‘The Prisoner’ fame)
via views of Bala Lake
- Walk across Thomas Telford’s aqueduct, now a UNESCO World Heritage site
- A trip on the Heritage steam train
- A white water rafting trip down the River Dee
- A horse drawn narrow boat ride along the canal
- Play 18 holes at Llangollen Golf Club
- Climb to the top of Castell Dinas Bran, a 12th century hill fort
- Walk across the medieval bridge, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales
- Visit Gales, Wales’ oldest wine bar
- Enjoy the shops and galleries of Llangollen
- Visit Plas Newydd, a National Trust house and gardens
The predicted costs are £99.95 per room (including full cooked breakfast) for Friday 6 April and £105.95 per room for Saturday 7 April. A 3 course group dinner will be £24.85 per person, not including drinks. A detailed menu will follow nearer the time. A segregated parking area has also been arranged.

Currently, Mike has reserved 10 double rooms with more available but, as with all popular locations, they do get booked up so a speedy response would be appreciated.
The Committee are asking for volunteers to put forward events in their locality. This ensures we get a change of venues and can take advantage of their local knowledge.
We do need volunteers helping to staff the stand, based we think, around ½ day shifts to give people plenty of time to look around.

Wednesday 3rd February 2016 sees the opening of the 41st Annual Retromobile show in Paris, France. This is a prestigious show attracting people and cars from all over the world but has managed to stay as an inclusive event with very substantial spares, parts and restoration areas supporting Car Clubs and Classic Car Dealers, as well as 3 International Auctions timed to coincide.
Having visited in 2014 and 2015 I can promise that you will see cars and hear stories that you’ve never seen or heard before.
The show operates on a different format from UK shows and our Club stand has sufficient space to accommodate only one car. Andy Gibbs has volunteered to take his stunningly restored Bristol 400, which we think will suitably introduce the Bristol story to the international scene. We will be supported by the Bristol Owners Heritage Trust who plan to bring along interesting artefacts.
The show is open for 5 days, closing on Sunday 7th February. Hours are 10am till 7pm (9 hours) with extended opening till 10pm on the Wednesday and Friday (12 hours).
There are a number of options as far as hotel type accommodation is concerned and we will co-ordinate nearer the time. Return rail fares from London at £64 or so mean the adventure can be accomplished on a modest budget.

Spencer Lane-Jones Ltd will be holding an Open Day at the Workshop in Warminster on Sunday 19th July 2015 between 1030 am and 3 pm. As well as a mouth-watering selection of thoroughbred and classic cars in attendance, the Workshops will be open for inspection. Engineers will be on hand to illustrate restoration work in progress and to discuss projects. All owners of pre and post war thoroughbred motor cars are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided. The Bristol Owners’ Heritage Trust is organising another of its popular annual seminars at the Bicester Heritage, an astonishingly well-preserved pre-war bomber station, formerly known as RAF Bicester. The event will follow a similar pattern to previous seminars with 3 speakers and plenty of opportunity for questions and dialogue. The event is open to all Bristol owners and their guests. Bicester Heritage will charge £5.00 per historic car and £10 per modern for entry to the site. Food is available on site all day or you can bring a picnic. There will be masses to see as the site itself is fascinating and the various motor/aviation businesses already in residence will be open for inspection.
