Looking for Lucas L464 back box
Hi,
Looking for Lucas L464 back box for one of the rear lights on my 403 restoration. The original is in very poor condition. Wondered if Keith might have one?

If Keith can't help there are a pair of lamps for sale on ebay with a starting price of £300 , sadly they are rare and expensive as are the lenses have just paid £60 for a pair of the red lenses without the reflector bowls, these enhance the effect of the red stop tail lamps and are ideal if you want to double up the stop tail lamp function in the rear lamps and relocate the reversing lamp else where.
Thanks Geoff but £300 when I only need one back box is way out of my price bracket. If I can't find one before I finish the restoration I will repair the one I've got, somehow or another.

Can you post pic of the one you need as ther is two mane types for the 401/2/3/+400 have a few hear but need to know what is needed Keith
Hi Keith - yes we need more people on this forum. It would be really good if this were THE place to get technical help, look for parts etc. - all the things we need for a diy restoration! Regarding the L464s they are the ones with two separate bulb holders, one of which has a kind of serrated ring round it to hold the red glass lens that goes over the rear/brake light bulb. I've taken some pictures which I will attempt to upload!
Even if you don't have the exact same type, I know there is a more common L464 with a single bulb holder. I would be happy with one of those as I could canibalise.

Regarding the forum, the aim is that the Technical Archive should be the repository for all technical help and parts suppliers etc. Members can upload any information they have and availability of individual parts onto the forum.
I am just starting to go through the old forum to capture any nuggets of information there to put into the Technical Archive and I will do the same with the New Forum as and when information becomes available.
