The AGM this year will be held in Shropshire. The venue, the Telford Hotel and Golf resort, is set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside but is easily accessible from the M54. The plan is to hold a dinner on the evening of 20 October at the hotel and the Association has reserved 12 rooms for members at £157 for a double and £130 for a single. Warwick Banks has kindly agreed to give a talk about his years in competition which included racing for Tyrell in F3 and Touring cars in Europe and the UK. I have no doubt he will have some fascinating insights to reveal.
The AGM will take place on 21st at 11:00 and I would hope we will complete business by 1:00.
There are number of places of interest for members to visit locally and make the weekend a real event. I have outline 3 below but there are many other options to consider. There is of course Ironbridge built by Abraham Darby in 1781, the place said to be the birth place of the Industrial revolution though there is the softer side with a Teddy Bear museum in the town. Attingham Park is a National Trust property just 25 minutes from the hotel for those who want to see a stunning house and some wonderful gardens including a beautiful walled garden. For the engineers among us, Cosford Air Museum is just a 20 minutes away with the delights of the hangers full of aircraft from the beginning of the RAF to the Cold War display.
Please book direct with the Hotel quoting BODA but if you let me know as well, I will forward the menu options out to those who book.
