Slow progress but still finding jobs to do on my 401 special Finding it to difficult to link the old mechanical gauges up to the Triumph engine decided to refit all the gauges with modern electrical ones along with a reverse cam sat nav 2din screen and make a new dash for it so all the old ones will be for sale switches and knobs etc. the dash has been veneered with birds eye walnut never used still in bubble wrap replacing the old heater with a new modern one Modified the steering Colum to take a indicator stork for flashers headlight dip and Horne next job fitting Jaguar XJ full electric seats the old seats will also be for sale I expect soon Keith

Could well be interested in some of the items you have for sale if you could contact me off Forum that would be helpful as I have sent messages in the past re lighting parts which don’t seem to be getting through which is a pity as I need parts for two further projects and and had to source lighting parts for the current 401 project from the USA.
Do you have a website? If so that would help everyone on here who needs the parts you manufacture and sell.

although I am trying to retire and finish my 401 Special I have handed all my tooling over to a colleague of mine to carry on producing the PF770fixing plates and back shells I will carryon with the re silvering service and the rebuilding of the PF770 units 462 fog units overrides washer bot vacuum units and carrier’s My colleague is John Smith Press craft components Birmingham who will be making them and marketing them for me I however will hold a small stock of units referred” at home for callers in or one offs Hope this will help

Thanks for that information, great help knowing what is available and what you are able to make and repair as well, I shall have to sit down over the next few weeks and sort out a list of what I need for the projects I am working on with a friend help. We have one of the 401’s running now and in a few week should be putting the engine block and gearbox back in, I was in the workshop briefly today but very cold and not time to spend too long there so did not fire up the heating.
I have not tried to put any photographs on this forum as when I read a previous explanation I simply didn’t understand it.
Can manage on the yahoo forum as pictures can be sent as a straight attachment, for Kevin’s the photographs apparently have to be reduced in file size to upload so when my stepson is home at the weekend I am going to see if he knows how to do it and can show me, problem is not sending photographs often I sometimes have trouble remembering how to do the attachments to emails so I am not holding out much hope.
I would love to see more photographs of your project as it seems to be coming along well, my friend Mike Brockway has a 403 with a Triumph 2.5 engine and gearbox in it and loves the set up and the extra power, we havn’t tried anything like that yet though a couple of years ago I did acquire a early 70’s LWB Silver Shadow fitted with a V8 Oldsmobile Diesel engine in it which I am tinkering with occasionally.
I hope you manage to upload some more photographs as I would love to see how the dash and interior develops.
